Living to Please God

Living to Please God: The Charm of Home
God's will for you is to be holy.

God's will for you is to be holy, so stay away from all sexual sin. Then each of you will control his own body and live in holiness and honor-not in lustful passion like the pagans who do not know God and his ways.
                                                         1 Thessalonians 4:3-5

For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything that we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions.
                                                         1 John 2:16-17

God has called you to live a holy life.

God has called us to live holy not impure lives. Therefore anyone who refuses to live by these rules is not disobeying human teaching, but is rejecting God, who gives us his Holy Spirit to you.
                                                         1 Thessalonians 4:8

For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
                                                         Romans 5:5

Live a quiet life.

Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before.
                                                         1 Thessalonians 4:11

Better a dry morsel with quiet than a house full of feasting and strife.
                                                                                   Proverbs 17:1

So, why should you care?  Because this is real....

...for the day of the Lord's return will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night. When people are saying , "Everything is peaceful and secure," then disaster will fall on them as suddenly as a pregnant woman's labor pains begin. And there will be no escape.
                                                       1 Thessalonians 5:3

Stay away from every kind of evil.
                                                          1 Thessalonians 5:22

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
                                                                                         Hebrews 4:12

The Lord is speaking to you through this word.

All glory and honor to my Lord Jesus Christ,
Sherry
